Pneumatic Retinopexy

Pneumatic retinopexy is a less invasive treatment reserved for selected cases. It involves injecting a gas bubble into the eye, preceded or followed by cryotherapy and/or laser treatment. After surgery, it is essential to maintain a specific head position for several days—as instructed by the ophthalmologist—to direct the bubble toward the detached retinal area. Over time, the gas is reabsorbed, and vision gradually recovers.
